Eponymous label, MASAHIRO MARUYAMA, was established in 2011. His prize-winning eyewear is known for its unique and artistic design concept that embraces imperfections and asymmetry, inspired by the Japanese aesthetic of wabi-sabi. MASAHIRO MARUYAMA’s frames, created by hand in Fukui Prefecture, Japan, defy the traditional and offer a playful, avant-garde aesthetic to eyewear design. Sabae City, in the Fukui prefecture of Japan, has been the heart of eyewear design and precision technology in Japan for over a century. Skilled craftspeople bring each delicate asymmetrical design and detail to life, producing a work of art that computerised manufacturing simply cannot replicate. The MASAHIROMARUYAMA collection comprises titanium and acetate models, each meticulously crafted over many months to a lustrous perfection.
